VCM Interactive produced this 2D animated explainer video for the Canadian Coalition for Seniors Mental Health (CCSMH) in Toronto, Canada. The first in a three-part educational series for healthcare and social service professionals working with seniors.
The video introduces the critical concepts of social isolation and loneliness among older adults, clarifying their definitions, origins, and differences. It emphasizes the subjective nature of loneliness, objective measures of isolation, and the importance of personalized approaches for each senior, ensuring their social health and well-being are properly supported. Produced in English and French, to reach professionals across Canada.
These videos are being incorporated into an educational curriculum to be used in schools across Canada, providing students and future professionals with foundational knowledge about social health and the experiences of older adults.
We created bespoke character designs and environments to address the sensitive issue of isolation and loneliness among seniors in an approachable, visual, and compassionate way. Through thoughtful animation, the video communicates complex emotional and social challenges with clarity and care, making the content accessible without minimizing its impact.
