Objective
Chapin International engaged VCM Interactive to produce a 3D product animation for manufacturing to support the launch of its new Mixes-On-Exit (MOE) sprayer technology.
Designed for both residential and commercial agriculture applications, the Chapin Mixes-On-Exit system is used for spraying herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. The sprayer features a unique dual-tank system consisting of a primary water tank and a separate concentrate tank that mixes chemical and water only at the moment of spraying.
This system allows users to adjust mixing ratios from 1 to 15 ounces per gallon, depending on the application requirements.
In addition to improving operational flexibility, this on-demand mixing approach helps reduce chemical waste and promotes more environmentally responsible usage.
However, because the innovation occurs inside the sprayer mechanism, it is difficult to demonstrate using traditional product photography or live-action corporate video production.
Chapin required a visual solution that could clearly communicate the internal functionality of the product in a concise and easy-to-understand format. The goal was to support marketing initiatives, improve buyer understanding during sales conversations, and provide technical teams with a consistent visual tool for product education.
Solution
To effectively communicate the product’s internal functionality, VCM Interactive developed a photorealistic 3D product animation for manufacturing.
Using the provided SolidWorks files and reference footage, our team carefully modelled each component of the sprayer to ensure dimensional accuracy and realistic product representation.
Animated cutaway views and liquid flow simulations were used to demonstrate how water and chemical concentrate interact within the sprayer system during operation. This approach made it possible to visualize complex internal processes that would otherwise remain hidden from view.
Motion graphics and professional voiceover were integrated into the animation to guide viewers through the process step-by-step. The result was a clear technical product animation that translated complex engineering functionality into an accessible visual narrative for both technical and non-technical audiences.
The finished industrial product animation serves as a flexible communications asset that can be used across marketing, sales, and customer support channels.
